What is Flesh and Blood?
Flesh and Blood, often shorthanded to FAB, is a fantasy-based trading card game. The name stems from the creator’s wish for the game to bring together local communities and play physically in flesh and blood.
What’s so different about Flesh and Blood?
Flesh and Blood was designed by a team of gaming veterans, and has unique elements that are not found in other trading card games. For example, (almost) every card in Flesh and Blood serves more than one purpose. Apart from playing it, you can use it for resources, or attack with it, or defend with it.
Flesh and Blood also has a unique combat system called the combat chain. The players take turns forming ‘chain links’ by attacking, defending and reacting. This actualizes combat and makes every action you take feel real.
There are many other elements that make this game stand out, but don’t take my word for it. Play it for yourself and experience it!
How do I get started with Flesh and Blood?
There are many great resources available online! Legend Story Studios (the team behind this game) has their very own learn to play video. It’s only 6-minutes so you can probably finish it on your commute back home. You can access it from this link. I’d recommend this as a starting point if you are completely new to the game.
For those who have already have an inkling, you can choose to watch The Professor’s video (Tolarian Community College) here. He goes slightly more in-depth into the core mechanics of the game with some good examples. If you instead like to read, there’s quickstart rules available here as well.
How do I really get started with Flesh and Blood?
Now that you’ve watched some videos or read some rules, it’s time for you to actually try the game. While there are online simulators available, it’s best to still go to your local game store to play! Don’t worry about feeling awkward or outcasted – the FAB community is a friendly one.

If you got a partner or friends, feel free to bring them along. Otherwise, our staff will be more than happy to play with you.
How much do I have to pay?
Nothing! We have welcome decks ready for any new players who’s looking to join the game. Just come on down, grab a deck, and play!
What is a Flesh and Blood Welcome Event?
Occasionally, we host welcome events. These are basically larger scale learn-to-play sessions. They are still free to join, and you will still receive a free welcome deck to play with. In these events, we’ll guide you on how you can register for a GEM account. This is an official account that allows you to join Flesh and Blood events worldwide! Every player will get an event welcome kit that contains goodies such as booster pack(s), a learn-to-play guide and store credits!
